😈 Greed Takes Over

But soon, greed crept into their hearts. “Why wait for one egg each day?” the wife said. “What if there are many golden eggs inside the goose right now?” Tempted by this idea, the farmer decided to act.

🔪 A Terrible Mistake

Without thinking further, the farmer killed the goose, hoping to find a treasure inside. But when he cut it open, there were no golden eggs—only an ordinary goose inside. The source of their wealth was gone forever.
